In the game app “Kawaida’s Journey” you have to master numerous challenges by jump and run and at the same time explore Tanzania. The serious game was developed participatively as a cooperation project between German and Tanzanian software developers, game designers, musicians and non-profit associations. In a playful way it wants to build a creative bridge between Germany/Tanzania and promote a differentiated view of the African continent.

At this Workshop the makers behind “Kawaida’s Journey” let you take a look behind the scenes of their game app. During the practical media workshop, participants can try out for themselves how level design works hands-on by modifying one level with the open source level editor “Tiled Map Editor”. In the end all participants will get their changed levels to continue playing.
